The aim was to create a garden that would connect to the interior of this beautiful redesigned home on Shelbourne Road in Dublin 4. A sheltered social space was required with a good lighting and heating design plan. While also creating a patio for morning sun, a cooking area, plant interest and a small lawn.

A contemporary minimal design would connect all spaces and maximise the garden footprint. A cool colour pallet would reflect the interior of the home. An outdoor room was designed to catch the afternoon and evening sun including a concrete firepit, built in benches, lighting options and heating options. While still leaving access to a rear garage we created a hidden door in the charred larch rear wall. Planting in areas would reflect local conditions in the garden.
