The clients needed an outdoor office, a social space and not to have a lawn.

This garden room was created as an outdoor office and studio in a typical sized small to medium garden in Malahide. All the glazing and door sizes were designed to maximise the use of the interior space and create garden views. With triple glazing and under floor heating this space is very comfortable and quiet, ideal to focus on work or to have some personal zen space! Planting was to be key to soften this space and also to have tall plants that would combat the scale of the outdoor building. A contemporary social space with a mini firepit zone was put in place and all other areas had intense planting with great interest for all year round interest.
